Overview

ZK063 is a humanized monoclonal antibody being developed by Lee's Pharmaceutical for the treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI). The drug functions as a transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) antagonist. Research has shown that excessive TGF-β signaling is a key driver of the bone defects observed in OI, a genetic disorder characterized by bone fragility and low bone mass. By inhibiting TGF-β, ZK063 is intended to reduce excessive bone resorption and promote bone formation, thereby improving bone mineral density and reducing fracture risk. As of 2024, the asset remains in the preclinical stage of development.
