Overview

ZK2503 is a small molecule pan-cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) inhibitor currently in preclinical development by Lee's Pharmaceutical for the treatment of solid tumors. Originally developed by Schering AG (now Bayer) and licensed to Lee's Pharmaceutical, ZK2503 is designed to inhibit multiple CDK isoforms, including CDK1, CDK2, CDK4, CDK7, and CDK9. These kinases are essential regulators of the cell cycle and gene transcription, and their dysregulation is a hallmark of many cancers. By blocking these targets, ZK2503 aims to induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, thereby inhibiting tumor growth. The compound is being evaluated for its potential as a targeted therapy in various solid tumor indications.
