Overview

ZKA230 is a human monoclonal antibody directed against Zika virus that was isolated from ZIKV-infected individuals and shows potent neutralizing activity across multiple viral strains. It belongs to a group of neutralizing non–E protein–binding (NNB) antibodies, indicating that it recognizes a quaternary epitope on the intact virion surface rather than linear epitopes on recombinant E protein domains, and achieves median inhibitory concentrations around 10 ng/mL in cell-based neutralization assays. ZKA230 has been used extensively as a research tool to define protective B-cell responses to Zika virus and to study antibody-dependent enhancement, but remains at a preclinical, discovery-stage asset with no active clinical development programs or approved therapeutic use.
