Overview

ZKGZ008 is a preclinical-stage small molecule drug candidate being developed by Lee's Pharmaceutical (through its subsidiary ZKGZ Biotech) for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, specifically pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It functions as a soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator. By stimulating sGC, the drug increases the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which leads to vasodilation, inhibition of smooth muscle cell proliferation, and anti-inflammatory effects in the pulmonary vasculature. This mechanism is intended to address the underlying pathophysiology of PAH by reducing pulmonary vascular resistance and improving cardiac function.
