Overview

ZL-1311 is a T-cell engager (TCE) designed to target Mucin-17 (MUC17), a cell surface protein that is significantly overexpressed in gastrointestinal malignancies, particularly gastric and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancers. Developed by Zai Lab, ZL-1311 is a bispecific molecule engineered to simultaneously bind to MUC17 on tumor cells and the CD3 receptor on T cells. This dual binding facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse, leading to T-cell activation and the directed lysis of MUC17-expressing cancer cells. Zai Lab holds exclusive worldwide rights for the development and commercialization of this program, which is slated to enter global clinical trials in 2026.
