ZM-020

ZM-020 is a potent and highly selective small molecule antagonist of the adenosine A2A receptor (A2AR), currently under development by Zhimeng Biopharma. The adenosine A2A receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor that plays a significant role in both the central nervous system and the immune system. In the context of Parkinson's disease, A2A receptor antagonism in the striatum can modulate dopaminergic signaling and improve motor function without the dyskinesia often associated with levodopa therapy. In oncology, ZM-020 is being explored for its potential to reverse adenosine-mediated immunosuppression within the tumor microenvironment, thereby enhancing the anti-tumor activity of T cells and other immune effectors. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling stage for both Parkinson's disease and solid tumors.
