Overview

ZM-H1505R + entecavir is an investigational **oral combination therapy** for chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It consists of ZM-H1505R (also known as canocapavir), a novel small molecule HBV capsid assembly modulator (core protein allosteric modulator, CAM-E type), and entecavir, a widely used nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor. ZM-H1505R binds a unique site on the HBV core protein, hindering pre-genomic RNA (pgRNA) packaging and effectively blocking the formation of covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA), thus disrupting HBV replication. Entecavir inhibits the reverse transcription of viral RNA into DNA. The combination is being developed to enhance the antiviral effect versus entecavir monotherapy and to potentially overcome resistance to existing therapies.
