Overview

ZME-018 is a **murine monoclonal antibody** that specifically targets the gp240 glycoprotein antigen expressed on the surface of over 80% of human melanoma cell lines and tumor specimens. It has been investigated primarily as a component of targeted immunotherapies and imaging agents for metastatic melanoma. ZME-018 has been developed as an antibody-drug conjugate (e.g., ZME-gelonin) and as a radiolabeled imaging agent (e.g., labeled with ^111^Indium or ^125^Iodine) for tumor localization and therapeutic evaluation. Experiments in animal models and in humans indicate its ability to localize to melanoma tumors and its utility in carrying drug or imaging payloads for targeted therapy or diagnostic purposes. ZME-018 alone does not show cytotoxicity, but in combination with cytotoxic agents or radionuclides, it can suppress tumor growth and allow for detection of metastases[1][3][5][7].
