ZMPB-NK006 is an allogeneic, "off-the-shelf" cell therapy consisting of natural killer (NK) cells derived from umbilical cord blood. Developed by Hebei Meiosai Biotechnology, this product is designed to treat advanced solid tumors by leveraging the innate anti-tumor activity of NK cells. These cells are capable of recognizing and lysing malignant cells through a balance of activating and inhibitory receptors, independent of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) restriction. Upon activation, ZMPB-NK006 cells release cytotoxic granules containing perforin and granzymes to induce apoptosis in target tumor cells and secrete pro-inflammatory cytokines to modulate the tumor microenvironment. The use of umbilical cord blood as a source provides a high yield of potent, proliferative NK cells with a lower risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) compared to adult peripheral blood sources.
