Overview

ZNF703-ASO9 is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) designed to target and downregulate the expression of the ZNF703 gene. ZNF703 is a known oncogene frequently overexpressed in luminal B breast cancer and is associated with aggressive clinical behavior and resistance to endocrine therapies such as tamoxifen. By binding to ZNF703 mRNA, the ASO facilitates its degradation or inhibits translation, thereby reducing ZNF703 protein levels. This downregulation leads to decreased cancer cell proliferation and the induction of apoptosis. Preclinical research indicates that ZNF703-ASO9 can sensitize breast cancer cells to chemotherapy agents like cisplatin, potentially offering a novel therapeutic strategy for treatment-resistant luminal B breast cancers.
