Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zorubicin is a benzoylhydrazone derivative of the anthracycline antineoplastic antibiotic daunorubicin. It exerts its anticancer effects by intercalating into DNA, interacting with and inhibiting topoisomerase II, and inhibiting DNA polymerases. These actions collectively disrupt DNA replication, repair, and the synthesis of RNA and proteins, leading to cell death in various cancer types.
