Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Zovaglutide (ZT002)** is a novel, ultra-long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by QL Biopharm for obesity management. It features an innovative dual-fatty acid chain modification that enhances albumin binding, enabling once-monthly subcutaneous dosing with a prolonged half-life. In a Phase 2 trial, zovaglutide at 160 mg monthly achieved 13.8% body weight reduction at 24 weeks in overweight/obese adults, comparable to biweekly dosing, with favorable tolerability and fewer gastrointestinal adverse events than more frequent regimens. It is currently advancing in Phase 3 trials.[2][6]
