ZP-I-98

ZP-I-98 is a novel, long-acting peptide-based glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist developed by Zealand Pharma. It is designed to selectively activate the GIP receptor to improve glycemic control and promote weight loss, particularly when co-administered with a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist such as liraglutide. Preclinical studies in diet-induced obese mice and non-human primates have demonstrated that ZP-I-98 has a prolonged half-life suitable for once-weekly subcutaneous administration in humans, and its combination with GLP-1 receptor agonists leads to synergistic body weight reduction and improved glucose tolerance.
