Overview

ZR202-CoV is a recombinant protein vaccine candidate developed to prevent COVID-19. It contains the trimeric pre-fusion spike (S) protein of the prototype SARS-CoV-2 virus and is formulated with a dual-adjuvant system consisting of aluminum hydroxide (Alum) and CpG7909. The vaccine is designed to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against SARS-CoV-2 infection. In phase 1 clinical trials, ZR202-CoV demonstrated robust immunogenicity, including strong S-binding IgG antibody responses and neutralizing activity against live virus as well as pseudovirus assays. The vaccine also showed cross-neutralization activity against Beta, Delta, and Omicron variants of concern. Safety data indicated that all formulations were well-tolerated with no serious adverse events related to vaccination[1][2][3][4].
