ZS-1002 is a small molecule inhibitor of ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 1 (ENPP1) being developed by Bio Genuine (GenuineBiotech) for the treatment of solid and malignant tumors. ENPP1 is a phosphodiesterase that is frequently overexpressed in tumors characterized by chromosomal instability; it facilitates immune evasion by degrading cyclic GMP-AMP (cGAMP), the endogenous ligand that activates the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway. By inhibiting ENPP1, ZS-1002 prevents the degradation of cGAMP, thereby promoting the activation of the cGAS-STING innate immune pathway and enhancing anti-tumor immune responses within the tumor microenvironment.
