ZSP1602 is an orally bioavailable small molecule antagonist of Smoothened (SMO), a key component of the Hedgehog (HH) signaling pathway. It was initially developed by Guangdong Zhongsheng Pharmaceutical. The drug is under clinical evaluation for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including basal cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction, small cell lung cancer, neuroendocrine neoplasms, and other advanced solid tumors. Its mechanism involves inhibition of SMO to suppress tumor growth and proliferation driven by aberrant HH pathway activation[1][2]. Phase 1 clinical trials have been conducted to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and maximum tolerated dose in patients with advanced solid tumors[1].
