ZT-111 is a radiopharmaceutical ligand currently being evaluated for the imaging and potential treatment of metastatic prostate cancer. It is designed to target the Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), a protein that is significantly overexpressed on the surface of prostate cancer cells. Depending on the radionuclide with which it is labeled—such as Iodine-131 ([131I]), Fluorine-18 ([18F]), or Gallium-68 ([68Ga])—ZT-111 can be utilized for either diagnostic imaging (PET or SPECT) to visualize tumor uptake and biodistribution or for targeted radionuclide therapy. The development of ZT-111 reflects a theranostic approach, allowing for patient selection through diagnostic imaging followed by targeted delivery of therapeutic radiation to PSMA-positive metastatic lesions.
