Overview

ZT-GLS409 is a preclinical-stage small molecule antiplatelet drug candidate being developed by Zata Pharmaceuticals. It is designed as a first-in-class dual antagonist that simultaneously targets the P2Y1 and P2Y12 platelet receptors to inhibit platelet activation and aggregation. The drug is being developed for the treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and ischemic stroke, with a versatile design intended for sublingual, intravenous, and oral administration. This multi-modal delivery approach aims to cover the full spectrum of ACS care, from emergency first-line treatment (sublingual) to peri-procedural use during percutaneous coronary intervention (intravenous) and long-term secondary prevention (oral). Zata Pharmaceuticals acquired the rights to ZT-GLS409 from GLSynthesis in 2023 and successfully completed a Pre-IND meeting with the FDA in 2024.
