Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZT006 is an orally bioavailable glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist peptide tablet being developed primarily for the treatment of overweight, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. Preclinical and early clinical data indicate that ZT006 activates the GLP-1 receptor to enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion, reduce appetite, and promote weight loss, and it has also shown experimental benefits on memory, brain insulin resistance, and neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease animal models. The drug is being developed by Beijing QL Biopharma/Beijing Quality Peptide Biomedical Technology and has advanced into phase 2 clinical trials evaluating efficacy, safety, and pharmacokinetics in overweight and obese participants.
