Overview
Zugocabtagene geleucel (zugo-cel) is an investigational, wholly-owned, allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy product candidate developed by CRISPR Therapeutics. It targets Cluster of Differentiation 19 (CD19) and is designed as an off-the-shelf therapy. The therapy utilizes CRISPR Cas9 technology for targeted gene knockout and CAR insertion, aiming for immune evasion and enhanced T effector cell potency. It is administered following a standard lymphodepletion regimen and does not require HLA matching. Zugocabtagene geleucel is currently in development for both autoimmune diseases and hematologic malignancies, including aggressive B-cell lymphomas.
