Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zuguang powder (also known as Zuguang San) is a topical, multi-ingredient traditional Chinese medicine and over-the-counter (OTC) foot-soak powder developed and manufactured by Jiuzhitang. It is formulated with active ingredients including salicylic acid, benzoic acid, boric acid, and Sophora flavescens (Kushen) root, with talc as an excipient. The combination of salicylic acid and benzoic acid provides keratolytic and antifungal properties, while the herbal component clears heat and dampness, kills parasites, and reduces sweating. Zuguang powder is primarily indicated for the treatment of keratotic tinea manuum and pedis (athlete's foot) and excessive foot sweating (hidrosis) caused by damp-heat. It is administered externally by dissolving the powder in hot water for a 20- to 30-minute hand or foot soak.
