Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Zuogui Jiangtang Shuluo Formula (ZGJTSLF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) decoction developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). The formula is designed based on the TCM principles of nourishing Yin, supplementing Qi, activating blood circulation, and unblocking collaterals to address the core pathogenesis of Qi-Yin deficiency and blood stasis. Mechanistically, ZGJTSLF is being investigated for its ability to regulate lipid metabolism and inhibit ferroptosis, thereby preventing irreversible damage to neurons and vascular endothelial cells caused by hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia. It is currently being evaluated in randomized, parallel-controlled clinical trials to assess its efficacy in improving nerve conduction velocity and clinical symptoms compared to standard treatments like mecobalamin.
