Zvogra is a biosimilar medication that contains denosumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits RANK ligand (RANKL). By binding to RANKL, denosumab prevents it from activating its receptor (RANK) on the surface of osteoclasts and their precursors, leading to reduced bone resorption and increased bone density. Denosumab is primarily indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis and cancer-related bone disorders, such as bone metastases from solid tumors. Zvogra is developed as a biosimilar to the reference products Prolia and Xgeva, which are branded formulations of denosumab marketed by Amgen. Zvogra is developed and manufactured by Alvotech, and commercially marketed by STADA Arzneimittel and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, with semi-exclusive rights for Europe, including Switzerland and the United Kingdom[2].
