Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZX2010 is a long-acting dual agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptors. Developed by Jiangsu Zhongxin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., the drug is designed to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus and manage weight in patients with obesity or overweight. By activating both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, ZX2010 mimics the action of endogenous incretin hormones to enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppress glucagon release, and delay gastric emptying. These mechanisms collectively improve glycemic control and promote significant weight reduction through increased satiety and reduced caloric intake. ZX2010 is currently undergoing Phase 2 clinical evaluation in China for its primary metabolic indications.
