ZY002

ZY002 is a therapeutic recombinant protein vaccine developed by Jiangsu Zhengyang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infections and associated lesions, specifically those caused by HPV types 16 and 18. Unlike prophylactic vaccines that prevent infection by inducing neutralizing antibodies, ZY002 is designed to stimulate a robust T-cell mediated immune response against the viral E6 and E7 oncoproteins. These oncoproteins are constitutively expressed in HPV-infected cells and are essential for malignant transformation. By targeting these proteins, ZY002 aims to eliminate infected cells, thereby treating conditions such as high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) and potentially preventing progression to cervical cancer. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1/2 clinical evaluation in China.
