Zygel

Zygel is a pharmaceutically manufactured, synthetic cannabidiol (CBD) formulated as a patent-protected, permeation-enhanced clear transdermal gel. It is designed to deliver controlled amounts of CBD into the bloodstream through application to the skin. Unlike plant-derived CBD oils or oral formulations, Zygel uses a synthetic form of CBD and aims for consistent absorption and bioavailability. The drug is being developed primarily for the treatment of behavioral symptoms associated with Fragile X syndrome (FXS), but it is also under investigation for 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
