Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ZYN Moist Spearmint is a tobacco-free, moist-format oral nicotine pouch developed by Swedish Match, a subsidiary of Philip Morris International. It is designed as a smoke-free and spit-free alternative for adult nicotine users. The product contains pharmaceutical-grade nicotine in the form of nicotine bitartrate dihydrate, which acts as an agonist at the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Unlike the standard dry ZYN mini-pouches, the Moist variant features a higher moisture content and a softer texture, intended to facilitate the transoral extraction of nicotine and flavors. It received FDA marketing authorization via the Premarket Tobacco Product Application (PMTA) pathway in January 2025.
