ZZ6398 is an investigational small molecule antipsychotic developed by Zhongze Therapeutics for the treatment of schizophrenia and major depressive disorder. It is the first pan-antagonist targeting dopamine D2 and D3 receptors as well as serotonin 5-HT1A and 5-HT2A receptors. The drug was specifically designed to address cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia—a significant unmet medical need—while also treating positive and negative symptoms. Preclinical studies demonstrated efficacy in animal models across all three symptom domains (positive, negative, cognitive), with superior safety and pharmacological profiles compared to existing antipsychotics.
