20S Proteasome Subunit Beta Type-5 (PSMB5)

Target
PSMB5
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Peptidase T1B family, Proteasome subunit, Protease
01

Overview

PSMB5 is a catalytic component of the 20S core proteasome complex. It exhibits chymotrypsin-like activity and is responsible for the ATP/ubiquitin-dependent degradation of most intracellular proteins. It participates in both ubiquitin-dependent and ubiquitin-independent protein degradation pathways and plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, DNA repair, and antigen processing.
