The 23S ribosomal RNA peptidyl transferase center (PTC) is the catalytic core of the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, functioning as a ribozyme to facilitate protein synthesis [1, 4, 5]. It is responsible for two primary chemical reactions: the formation of peptide bonds between amino acids during translation elongation and the hydrolysis of the peptidyl-tRNA bond during translation termination [4, 5, 13]. The PTC is highly conserved across bacterial species, making it an ideal target for a wide range of antimicrobial agents [1, 14]. Antibiotics such as macrolides, oxazolidinones, lincosamides, and pleuromutilins bind to specific sites within the PTC or the adjacent nascent peptide exit tunnel to inhibit translation, effectively halting bacterial growth [1, 3, 9}
