Target intelligence / Profile preview
40S ribosomal protein S20 (RPS20) is a component of the small (40S) subunit of the cytoplasmic ribosome, the cellular machinery responsible for protein synthesis. It belongs to the S10P family of ribosomal proteins and is essential for ribosome structure and function. RPS20 gene mutations have been linked to certain diseases, including Diamond-Blackfan anemia and increased risk for familial colorectal cancer[1][2][7][8]. No drugs are currently known to directly target RPS20, and it is not considered a conventional therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter.
