Target intelligence / Profile preview
40S ribosomal protein S3a (RPS3A) is a structural component of the small (40S) subunit of the eukaryotic ribosome, which is responsible for catalyzing protein synthesis in the cytoplasm. It belongs to the S3AE family of ribosomal proteins and is required for normal ribosome assembly and function. Disruption of the gene can revert cell transformation, implicating a potential role in oncogenesis. RPS3A interacts with factors involved in ribosomal biogenesis and may modulate erythropoiesis and cellular stress responses via transcriptional regulation mechanisms[1][2][5][6].
