5S ribosomal RNA pseudogene 311 (RNA5SP311) is annotated as a *pseudogene* of the ribosomal 5S RNA gene family. Pseudogenes are genomic sequences similar to known genes but not believed to produce functional protein or RNA products. Most 5S ribosomal RNA pseudogenes are non-functional remnants of ancestral genes, often occurring in multiple copies throughout the human genome.
