5S ribosomal RNA pseudogene 411 (RNA5SP411) is a processed pseudogene derived from the 5S ribosomal RNA gene family[6]. Pseudogenes like RNA5SP411 are characterized by sequence similarity to ancestral genes but have lost their protein-coding or RNA function due to disabling mutations, insertions, or deletions[2][6]. 5S rRNA itself is an integral structural and functional RNA component of the large subunit of the ribosome[1][3]—however, pseudogenes like RNA5SP411 do not contribute to ribosomal assembly or function. The existence of 5S rRNA pseudogenes reflects the high duplication and retrotransposition rates of 5S RNA loci in eukaryotic genomes[2][6]. There is no evidence that RNA5SP411 is a therapeutic target or that it interacts with drugs or has a role in disease pathogenesis. Most ribosomal RNA pseudogenes are regarded as non-functional genomic elements without clinical or pharmacological significance[2][8][6].
