5S ribosomal RNA pseudogene 90 is a non-functional genomic sequence related to the 5S ribosomal RNA gene. Pseudogenes of ribosomal RNA are frequent in eukaryotic genomes and are the result either of gene duplication followed by mutation (unprocessed pseudogene), gene retrotransposition (processed pseudogene), or gene inactivation (unitary pseudogene)[2][6].
