ABCB10 pseudogene 3 (ABCB10P3) is a processed pseudogene located in the human genome. It is derived from duplication events involving the ABCB10 parental gene, an ATP-binding cassette transporter associated with mitochondrial function and oxidative stress protection[2]. Unlike its parent gene ABCB10, ABCB10P3 does not code for any protein and is considered nonfunctional. Sequence analyses suggest ABCB10P3 arose through sequential duplication from prior pseudogenes (ABCB10P1 and ABCB10P2) and has never encoded a functional protein[2][4]. Therefore, ABCB10P3 is not a molecular target for therapeutic intervention, drug discovery, or biomarker use.
