ABR antisense RNA 1 (ABR-AS1)

Target
ABR-AS1
Molecular classification
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), Antisense RNA
01

Overview

ABR antisense RNA 1 (ABR-AS1) is a non-protein-coding RNA gene, transcribed from the ABR gene locus in the antisense direction[4]. Like other antisense lncRNAs, it may play regulatory roles in gene expression, possibly by modulating expression of the ABR gene, but its specific biological function, mechanisms, and clinical relevance have not been characterized in the literature or major gene/protein databases. There is no evidence that ABR-AS1 functions as a receptor, enzyme, or other canonical drug target.

02

Mechanism of action

Not established. Antisense RNAs generally act via RNA-RNA interaction to regulate sense gene transcription or mRNA stability[1].
