Acetylcholine Receptor Delta Subunit (CHRND)

Target
CHRND
Molecular classification
Ligand-gated ion channels, Acetylcholine receptors
01

Overview

The acetylcholine receptor delta subunit is a protein component of the muscle-type nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (AChR), encoded by the CHRND gene in humans. This receptor is a ligand-gated ion channel that mediates synaptic transmission at neuromuscular junctions. Upon binding acetylcholine, all subunits undergo conformational changes leading to opening of the central pore for cation flow.
