There is currently no evidence that the ANP32BP1 locus produces a functional transcript or protein, and therefore it does not have recognized biological functions, roles in disease, or relevance as a therapeutic target[3]. The true active family members—ANP32A, ANP32B, and ANP32E—are multifunctional regulatory proteins involved in chromatin remodeling, cell death, and protein phosphorylation, but ANP32BP1 itself does not share these functions because it is a pseudogene[3]. Some literature may refer generically to the ANP32 protein family, but explicit functions, classifications, and disease associations do not apply to this pseudogene[1][3].
