Overview

ACSS3 antisense RNA 1 (ACSS3-AS1) is an antisense non-coding RNA transcribed from the opposite strand of the ACSS3 gene locus[1]. There is currently very limited information on ACSS3-AS1 in public databases and biomedical literature, and it is not recognized as a protein-coding gene, therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or established biomarker. Most available data concern the protein-coding gene ACSS3 itself, not its antisense RNA. There appear to be no established aliases, disease roles, pharmacological interactions, or recognized biological functions attributed specifically to ACSS3-AS1. Therefore, ACSS3-AS1 should not be considered a canonical molecular target, and more information would be needed to determine any functional or clinical relevance[1].
