Target intelligence / Profile preview
ACTB pseudogene 6 is a human pseudogene that shares high sequence similarity with the functional ACTB (Actin beta) gene. ACTB encodes a cytoskeletal protein essential for cellular structure and motility, but ACTB pseudogene 6 does not produce a functional protein product. Like many pseudogenes, it is considered non-functional and serves mainly as a genomic relic, although the existence of multiple ACTB pseudogenes can complicate molecular studies such as PCR due to the high homology with authentic ACTB coding sequences. There are no known biological functions, disease associations, interacting drugs, or therapeutic applications relevant to this gene.
