ACTB pseudogene 7 (ACTBP7)

ACTB pseudogene 7 refers to one of the dozens of noncoding DNA sequences in the human genome that are highly homologous to the functional beta-actin gene (ACTB), which resides on chromosome 7[2][3][4][7]. These pseudogenes are genomic fragments that resemble protein-coding genes but have accumulated mutations or structural differences that prevent them from encoding functional proteins. Despite their similarity to ACTB, pseudogenes such as ACTB pseudogene 7 are not functional, and their transcriptional potential or biological relevance is, at best, minimal or unknown.
