**Actin-binding LIM protein 2 (ABLIM2)** is a cytoskeletal protein that contains LIM domains and a dematin-like domain, enabling it to bind directly to filamentous actin (F-actin)[1][2][4]. It localizes to actin-rich regions, such as stress fibers in muscle and neuronal cells, where it acts as a scaffold integrating cytoskeletal organization with intracellular signaling, and can enhance SRF-dependent transcription by cooperating with proteins such as STARS[2][4]. ABLIM2 exhibits highest expression in brain, retina, and other neuronal tissues, indicating a role in neural function and potentially in retinal development, particularly in photoreceptor cells[2][4]. Although multiple isoforms are expressed in a variety of tissues, the full-length isoform is restricted to the retina[4]. There is currently no evidence that ABLIM2 functions as a classical therapeutic target (receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc.), nor are there known drug interactions or established clinical biomarker applications[1][2][4][5].
