Actin-binding LIM protein 3 (ABLIM3) is a cytoskeletal scaffold protein encoded by the ABLIM3 gene in humans and other vertebrates. It contains four LIM domains (which facilitate protein-protein interactions) and a dematin-like domain involved in actin filament binding. ABLIM3 contributes to cellular adhesion, migration, and polarity, operating as a molecular linker between actin filaments and signaling pathways. It is highly expressed in heart, lung, liver, and the nervous system. ABLIM3 is implicated in disease mechanisms including cancer progression, neurodevelopmental disorders, asthma, and cardiovascular disease, but is not recognized as a direct therapeutic target. Related proteins and paralogs include ABLIM1 and LIMS1.
