Actin gamma 1 pseudogene 10 (ACTG1P10) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the functional actin gamma 1 gene (ACTG1)[2][9]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to known genes but are typically non-functional because of mutations, deletions, and lack of appropriate regulatory elements[9]. ACTG1P10 is listed in genomic databases as a related but non-functional sequence; it does not produce a cytoskeletal actin protein and has no known role in cell biology, disease, or drug interaction. Its presence in annotation databases can lead to confusion when mistaken for the functional ACTG1 gene, which encodes gamma-actin, a component of the cytoskeleton vital for cellular structure and associated with certain inherited diseases if mutated[1][5][6].
