Target intelligence / Profile preview
Actin gamma 1 pseudogene 19 (ACTG1P19) is a non-coding DNA sequence similar to the functional actin gamma 1 gene but does not encode a protein or participate in cellular functions[3]. Pseudogenes often result from gene duplication or retrotransposition and are generally considered "genomic fossils." Unlike ACTG1, which codes for a cytoskeletal protein with roles in normal cell architecture and certain genetic diseases, ACTG1P19 has no described physiological or pathological functions.
