Actin gamma 1 pseudogene 9 (ACTG1P9) is a non-functional gene segment related to the ACTG1 gene, mapped to human chromosome 6p21[5]. Like other pseudogenes, ACTG1P9 typically arises from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and does not encode a functional RNA or protein product. There is no evidence for its involvement in cellular function, disease, or drug response, and it has not been described as a relevant therapeutic target in biomedical research. The canonical ACTG1 gene encodes actin gamma 1, a key cytoskeletal protein, but ACTG1P9 is not involved in those functions.
