Target intelligence / Profile preview

Activated CDC42-associated kinase 1 (ACK1)

Target
ACK1
Molecular classification
Non-receptor tyrosine kinase, Enzyme, Kinase, Ack family of kinases
01

Overview

ACK1 is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that acts as an intermediary signaling molecule between activated receptor tyrosine kinases and downstream effectors. It is involved in transmitting cell survival, growth, proliferation signals, regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics, promoting internalization/downregulation of EGFR, participating in endocytosis, and cell adhesion signaling pathways. It is considered an oncogenic driver and its overactivation or dysregulation promotes cancer cell survival/proliferation/hormone resistance/radiation resistance across multiple cancers.
