Activator of HSP90 ATPase homolog 2, pseudogene (AHSA2P)

Target
AHSA2P
Molecular classification
Other (pseudogene), Co-chaperone (predicted function, not confirmed due to pseudogene status)
01

Overview

Activator of HSP90 ATPase homolog 2, pseudogene (AHSA2P), is a human pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein. It is predicted, by sequence similarity, to potentially enable ATPase activator activity and may be involved in protein folding as a co-chaperone stimulating HSP90 ATPase activity. However, as a pseudogene, AHSA2P is not believed to be translated into a protein product or act as a direct therapeutic target. Functional paralogs/orthologs, such as AHSA1, are validated co-chaperones that stimulate HSP90 ATPase, but AHSA2P itself is not considered an active molecular target in pharmacology or disease.
