Activin Type II-B Receptor (ACVR2B)

Target
ACVR2B
Molecular classification
Receptor, Transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptor, TGF-β superfamily receptor
01

Overview

The activin type II-B receptor (ACVR2B) is a transmembrane serine/threonine kinase receptor belonging to the TGF-β superfamily. It mediates signals from TGF-β family ligands, including activins and myostatin, playing a central role in regulating muscle mass and other biological processes such as cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, homeostasis, osteogenesis, fibrosis regulation, inflammation control, and neurogenesis modulation.
